 Third Air Force is U.S. Air Forces in Europe's component numbered air force for U.S. European Command. Based at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, 3rd Air Force directs all USAFE forces engaged in contingency and wartime operations in the EUCOM area of responsibility. Along with its headquarters staff, the command is comprised of 10 wings, three groups, and the 603rd Air and Space Operations Center. It also has a unique mission as the U.S. military's primary liaison to the British government, which is conducted through the command's 3 AF-UK headquarters at Royal Air Force Mildenhall. |
